The Emmanuel Gospel Choir will present a concert in the sanctuary of Emmanuel Baptist Church, 430 Jackson Street in Alexandria, on Sunday, April 26, at 6:00 p.m.
The choir was founded fifteen years ago by American opera singer Cecelia Stearman and American pianist Scott Sontag. Now made up 80 members, the choir is led by Sarah Jeanmaire, director, and Scott Sontag, pianist.
The Alexandria concert on April 26 will be part of the choir's first tour to the United States, realizing a long-time dream of the choir's co-founder and pianist, Scott Sontag, who is a native of Pineville.
